SkandPath - Trackway UATW
Skandpath Upgraded Assault Trackway
ALTAIR’s SKANDPATH™ Assault Trackway (ATW) improves the mobility of vehicles with pneumatic tires by rapidly creating a mat that stabilizes the ground in desert/semi-desert terrain.
The system comprises of 2 x 1m width Class 24 Tracks constructed from Lightweight High Strength Polymers, tested to Military Load Classification (MLC) 24 baseline, with capability of taking vehicle loads of up to MLC 30+ in desert & semi-desert conditions.
Versatile in its capability, the SKANDPATH™ ATW is the ideal situation for creating Assault Trackways, Temporary Roadways, Approach roads, Gap crossings, Beach Landings, and Flooring Systems.
With additional accessories, SKANDPATH™ ATW can also be used as a Helicopter Landing Mat
Field Tested
- Altair’s SKANDAPATH Roadway has been successfully tested to 10,000 passes with the entire fleet of the Indian Army’s 25 Ton Trucks in intense Desert & Semi-Desert terrain.
- These included 4x2, 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 vehicles.
- Civilian 10 wheel, 3 axle, trucks loaded to 25 ton gross weight were also part of the trial.
- Steep slopes and bends were incorporated as part of the trial.
- Speed of laying the trackway and recovery of the trackway after use were tested and timed.
It is probably the only trackway system in the world to be field tested & proven to these exacting conditions.
REVOLUTIONARY & RELIABLE DESIGN:
The SKANDPATH’s ™ Revolutionary Design uses Lightweight, High Strength, Impact Resistant Polymer Matrix.
The SKANDPATH™ is constructed using a series of interconnected panels. Each honeycomb panel is approximately 200mm length.
These are interconnected with a proprietary ultra-high tensile strength composite rod. Composite rod failure rate was 0.04% after completion of 10,000 vehicle passes. Panel failure was 0.18% after completing 10,000 passes.
The SKANDPATH™ can be delivered in Rolls of 25m length or as per user requirements. These individual rolls can be interconnected creating a virtually indefinite road length. Can be used either to create 2 x 1.0m Treadways (as shown in images) or 3.0m width surface as per use requirement
Weight of each 25m roll is 205 Kg, making it easy to deploy manually without any specialized equipment.
There is no requirement for specially trained labor/crew to install and recover the trackway
